Soothing & Serene

A native Atlantan now living in Boston, Honey Collins saw the showhouse as an opportunity to return to her design roots and pay tribute to her mother and design mentor, the late Atlanta designer Susan Wilcox. Working primarily with Travis & Company and Parc Monceau, Collins furnished an upstairs bedroom and bath with a mix of modern elements and classic pieces. Papered in a Studio E wallcovering that mimics the look of Venetian plaster, the soothing green-and-cream bedroom features a pair of antique fauteuils covered in an abstract-patterned fabric by Porter Teleo, while nearby, a Billy Baldwin Studio Turkish ottoman sports a Jane Shelton animal-print fabric. The canopy bed, dressed in tailored bed hangings and Peacock Alley linens, extends the room’s quietly modern feel, as do the adjoining bathroom’s neutral tones and clean-lined fixtures. Having applied the design skills learned from her mother, Collins believes Wilcox would have loved this room. –Jennifer Boles
